Stand Firm in Hope by Kassi Evans

“When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him.” (Isaiah 59:19 KJV)

Over the last few years, I’ve had a series of dreams that unavoidable, supernatural disasters were coming. Whether a tsunami, storm or avalanche the warning was the same: “Don’t try to run, but face what’s coming head on – STAND FIRM.” In every dream, those who tried to escape were taken out, while those who trusted in the Lord and stood their ground not only remained but also became vessels of HOPE for the hopeless!

I believe those dreams were a depiction of what’s currently happening in our nation. As the pressure to snuff out the voice of the followers of Jesus Christ grows stronger, there is temptation to try and “escape” from all controversy. However, there is something greater and more powerful than fear, and that is HOPE!

HOPE that God’s word is good and that His promises WILL come to pass!

HOPE that no matter how impossible it may seem, God CAN turn a nation back to Himself!

HOPE that your life carries purpose beyond yourself and that YOUR VOICE matters!

When we experience overwhelming hopelessness, the outcome is that we often feel silenced with tolerance seeming to be the only resolve, but it’s in the midst of chaos that the heart of God is revealed and His character is proven true. THIS is the very place where He draws us closer and reveals His mysteries to us - where all our weaknesses bow to His strength. It is here where humility is forged – transforming us into a standard worth lifting!

I believe in these dreams there is an invitation for us all: to not run in fear or try to escape from the onslaught that may be rising up; instead to STAND FIRM, trusting God and trusting in the reality of His goodness!
