“The Lord told us to go back to the roots of the Ryman, which was originally named the Union Gospel Tabernacle and functioned as a powerful revival center in America.”

WHAT IS PURE RIVER AT THE RYMAN?

Pure River at the Ryman is a 24 hour succession of musicians releasing a pure sound made up of many streams (genres, generations) flowing out of The Ryman Auditorium. This gathering is a sacrificial act of intercession. It is crisis intervention as we call upon the name of the Lord to fight this battle, to heal our land, and make us family. One nation under God!

  • WHY? America is in a time of extreme crisis and we believe God is looking for those who will “stand in the gap” and turn to Him in praise and seek Him for help.

  • WHEN? September 21st-22nd noon to 12 midnight both days (12 PM to 12 AM

  • HOW?  Every half an hour, on the historic Ryman stage, bands (semi-unplugged) will release sounds and songs that are holy unto the Lord. As we return to our spiritual roots, we ask that each artist prepare one hymn that has guided their life as part of their worship set. Our audience will be the Lord and live streaming around the world.

  • WHAT IT IS NOT:  It is not a paid or ticketed commercial concert/event. It is not political. It is not a paid gig.

THE VISION:

America is presently in exceedingly turbulent times with no obvious or easy solution. However, there is a remarkable story in the Old Testament that speaks to our current situation and to the sense of impending doom many feel we are facing. In 2 Chronicles 20 we see Judah facing a National crisis as they were surrounded by enemy armies on every side ready to destroy them. King Jehoshaphat’s response was profound, “We have no power to face this vast army that is attacking us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are upon You.” ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s. … After … Jehoshaphat appointed men to sing to the Lord and to praise him for the splendor of his holiness as they went out at the head of the army, saying: “Give thanks to the Lord, for his love endures forever. As they began to sing and praise, the Lord set ambushes against the enemy… and they were defeated.”

When the musicians and singers went out and lifted up the name of the Lord, the opposing enemy armies imploded and literally destroyed themselves! Much like in this Jehoshaphat story, we see America is confronting diverse and destructive forces pressing down hard upon us. With great distress, confusion, and no real solutions in sight, it is imperative that we turn our eyes upon the Lord. The efforts of man alone cannot resolve our conflicts and national challenges. It is time to call for the musicians and singers to give thanks to the Lord, celebrate his goodness, evoke the Lord to rise up and defeat our enemies like only He can.

We believe that Nashville (Music City) has a unique voice in this time of crisis and that the musicians have a vital role to go out in front of the spiritual forces that are about to collide. Musicians must once again lead the way into the frontline battle! We are again called to release a pure sound... a Pure River from the Ryman that will displace the polluted and convoluted river that is currently ravaging our land.

Would you consider being part of this and donating your time and talent for this noble cause? If the answer is yes... we will send you another page that will spell out the practicals and more details of what it means to be part of this musical/spiritual maneuver.Thank you for considering and God bless!

THE VISION

“ There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells.” (Psalm 46:4)

On January 10, 2020 my son and his friend shared this vision at our Friday night meeting. They saw a polluted river called “false fulfillment” running through the center of Nashville… (Click to keep Reading)

History of the Ryman

1810- It was religious inspiration that took this building from a dream to reality. Specifically, it was the inspiration of a powerful, charismatic evangelist named Sam Jones. On A wealthy, rough-hewn Nashville riverboat captain named Thomas Ryman heard Jones speak at a tent revival three blocks from where Ryman Auditorium stands today. Jones’s words transformed Ryman’s life. Ryman became a man who looked to a higher God for his calling rather than looking to money.

Ryman and Jones dreamed of creating a tabernacle as the religious gathering place for the city. Eventually, Nashvillians joined Ryman and Jones. This dream became their dreams, too. The people of the city donated both time and money to complete the Union Gospel Tabernacle, the name of the new building when it opened to the community in 1892 . (Read Full History)
